National League North: Complete Weekend Preview

By Sam Elliott

We’re about to find out if the strength of the so-called Manager of the Month curse - leaders Chester face a very tough test.

Calum McIntyre was crowned the National League North’s top boss for January, and February hasn’t started badly, either.

It’s seven straight wins for his on-fire team, but they face their most demanding fixture of a so-far brilliant 2025 on Saturday when they travel to South Shields.

Only one side have scored more goals at home than the Mariners and after collecting his award, it was straight back down to work for the Seals manager who knows his team must be at their very best in the North East.

Scunthrope United are the club who have a better goal record on their own turf, but the second-place Iron are away this weekend. Andy Butler takes his team to Warrington Town looking to make it 12 points from a possible 12.

Brackley Town have won five of their last six St James Park games and Peterborough Sports visit days after the Saints when third. Kidderminster Harriers also play at home, and need to get back to winning ways against Chorley after a frustrating few weeks.

Both promotion hopefuls Curzon Ashton and King's Lynn Town have lost their way a little in recent weeks so both know how important their meeting is.

Hereford are now just one point outside the top seven. It’s Spennymoor Town next for the Bulls, while Rushall Olympic stand in Buxton’s way as they look to reclaim a play-off spot.

There’s a huge game down the bottom when Farsley Celtic welcome Needham Market - the winner could find themselves out of the bottom four.

Elsewhere Marine head to Darlington, Radcliffe know a good result is vital at home to Southport as Scarborough Athletic play Alfreton Town and Oxford City host Leamington.
