National League North: Complete Weekend Preview

By Sam Elliott

There’s simply no division on the planet quite like the National League North and every matchweek from here on in could be crucial.

Just one point separates the leaders and fourth place - with the team in sixth spot just four points off the pace with two games in hand. You’d better buckle up and brace for impact!

With things so tight it doesn’t really matter too much who’s sitting top, but Kidderminster Harriers are the frustrated pace-setters.

They missed the chance to stretch their legs on Tuesday after losing at home to Darlington, so they look to make amends at Oxford City, who have only lost once in six.

Chester have climbed to second and go to Scarborough Athletic looking for a fifth win in a row.

Scunthorpe United continue to blow hot and cold but Andy Butler’s team aren’t going anywhere in this title race. They welcome South Shields on Saturday, with King's Lynn Town also loitering - they could go top if they win at Peterborough Sports and other results go their way.

Brackley Town suffered a set-back at Scunthorpe but plan to get back on track at home to Spennymoor Town.

Curzon Ashton are determined to reset after three defeats in four but they wouldn’t have wished for a trip to Darlington next, especially after the Quakers’ win at Kidderminster in midweek.

Three straight draws have left Chorley sitting outside the top seven and they’re on the road at Southport as Buxton take their challenge to Marine.

Things are tense at the bottom end as well as the top. Bottom side Needham Market tackle Alfreton Town, while struggling Farsley Celtic host Warrington Town.

Rushall Olympic have a lifeline after three wins from four, but were hit for seven last time out. Can their recovery kick-start at home to Leamington?

Elsewhere there’s interest at both ends as fourth-from-bottom Radcliffe play play-off hunting Hereford.
