National League North: Complete Weekend Preview

By Sam Elliott

There’s another action-packed weekend of Vanarama National League North football ahead as things heat up in the cold.

Just two points separate the leaders and the side sitting in fourth place, and there's a new team topping the table after every matchweek.

Curzon Ashton may be the underdogs but they’re refusing to crumble - and it’s the Seadogs of Scarborough Athletic next.

But nine sides in the top half have won more matches at home, meaning three points is crucial for Craig McMahon’s men at the Tameside Stadium as they look to celebrate the management team’s new contract in style.

King's Lynn Town are second and they play in front of their fans too. But improving visitors Oxford City have won three out of their last five games, and also claimed FA Trophy victory on Tuesday night.

Scunthorpe United headed in 2025 as the team on top - however what looked like an easy game at Rushall Olympic is now anything but after the bottom side secured back-to-back wins.

One of the teams the strugglers defeated were Kidderminster Harriers, who can undo some of that damage by leaving Marine with three points.

Darlington are the division’s form side, winning five of their last six. They can up the heat before the rest kick-off by beating Chorley in the 1pm kick-off.

Brackley Town are very much in the promotion picture and are favourites to beat Needham Market at St James Park.

Buxton host Chester looking to keep hold of a top seven place but know the sides outside are gaining fast.

Hereford welcome Warrington Town and Alfreton Town, just one point outside the promotion places, are at Spennymoor Town, who know a few wins can power them into contention.

Radcliffe have games in hand as they look to escape the bottom four and they have a visit from South Shields.

Elsewhere, Southport take on Leamington and Peterborough Sports play Farsley Celtic.
