National League North: Complete Weekend Preview

By Sam Elliott

After some eye-catching midweek scorelines, what will Saturday’s National League North matches bring?

Two points separate the top four and Scunthorpe United know they need to back up Tuesday’s simple won over Rushall Olympic.

They travel to improving Southport, who’s three-game winning run was brought to a halt a few days ago.

Curzon Ashton and Chester see no reason why they can’t be in the mix when it matters so this weekend’s game is important to both teams’ promotion hopes.

But second are Chorley, who are aiming to become the first team since January 6 to leave Spennymoor Town, pictured, with all three points.

The side to win in the North East that day was Brackley Town, who take on a team from the same area in their next game and play South Shields, who have only won once in their last six.

King's Lynn Town have climbed to fourth and the Walks welcomes Leamington, who are just outside the top seven but have only won one time on the road so far.

Hereford manager Paul Caddis urged his high-flyers to bounce back from their loss at Warrington by beating Farsley Celtic, while Needham Market have slipped to bottom of the table and travel to Buxton.

Radcliffe are on a roll and are now looking to put distance between themselves and the bottom four by beating Oxford City.

Kidderminster Harriers need to find consistency and it’s a tough ask for Phil Brown’s team at Peterborough Sports.

Elsewhere, Darlington play Warrington Town, Alfreton Town look to recover from their midweek set-back at Rushall Olympic while Marine - one of five teams on ten points - have a visit from Scarborough Athletic.
