National League North: Complete Weekend Preview

By Sam Elliott

The Vanarama National League North returns to full strength and it’s fair to say we’ve got a blockbuster weekend ahead of us.

The FA Cup break was fantastic for some but left others heartbroken, so it’s back to the scramble for points on this weekend and it all gets underway on Friday night.

Pitch problems for Farsley Celtic have really hampered their progress and have had to either flip fixtures or hire out alternative venues.

Spennymoor Town will now take place at the Horsfall Stadium, home of Bradford PA, as repair work continues at The Citadel.

Saturday is shaping up to be sensational with some huge fixtures - and could we have new leaders?

Scunthrope United haven been inconsistent in recent weeks and go to Chester looking to set the record straight by sending out a clear message.

The Seals have won four of their last five on home turf and dropped points could let others in.

Chorley are now just a point behind but they haven’t got an easy task either and travel to sixth place Alfreton, who are unbeaten in nine National League.

With the top two facing tough trips, Curzon Ashton could fancy their chances of snatching the leadership.

The Nash are at home to Hereford, but the only problem is the Bulls are fourth, meaning it’s shaping up to be some weekend at the top.

Scarborough Athletic were one of the sides to taste FA Cup glory, but Southport arrive in good form.

Rushall Olympic also won through to the first round and it’s Darlington next as Radcliffe’s quest to haul themselves off the bottom head to Brackley Town.

Elsewhere, King's Lynn Town face Buxton while South Shields welcome Leamington and Oxford City are at Warrington Town.

Kidderminster Harriers need to start winning, they visit Needham Market, as Peterborough Sports meet Marine.
