National League Cup Last Four Draw Is Made

By Tom Scott

The National League Cup semi-final draw has now been made - with three Vanarama National League sides still in the competition.

Braintree Town were the latest of our sides to get through - joining fellow National League sides Altrincham and Sutton United.

Leeds United PL2 are the only remaining PL2 side in the competition ahead of the semi-final draw.

The Iron continued their fine campaign with a great win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Jermaine Francis had them ahead inside the first minute before the visitors pegged them back through Sahil Bashir.

Debutant Kyreece Lisbie struck a second-half winner to maintain their 100% winning record.

Aldershot Town were knocked out by Leeds United PL2 despite taking the lead at the EBB through Kai Corbett.

Reece Chadwick-Chaplin notched twice after the break either side of an Oliver Pickles goal for Leeds who completed the turnaround.

Now the draw has been made and there are two big ties to look ahead to.

Altrincham won a seven-goal thriller against Newcastle United PL2 to book their place - Alty now face a showdown with Leeds United PL2.

The all-National League tie is Braintree Town who host Sutton United.

Ties have to be played by April 2.
