National League Cup Full House Expected As Alty Fans Flock

We’re about to see the National League Cup attendance record smashed this evening with the sold out signs put out almost a week ago.

Altrincham face Manchester United’s talented youngsters at the J.Davidson Stadium later on - and thousands will be there to cheer them on.

Victory for either side will send them to the top of Group B tonight.

Phil Parkinson has urged his players to embrace the occasion with thousands expected on the terraces and after scoring ten goals in their past three matches, he wants another big display.

Meanwhile, CEO Sam Mackenzie said: "It's wonderful to see the local community getting behind next Tuesday's game in such large numbers. We can't wait to welcome old, new and returning fans to The J.Davidson Stadium for what will be a great night of football.”

It’s one of two National League Cup games tonight.

In Group C, Tamworth welcome another visitor from the north east with Sunderland at the Lamb two weeks after rivals Newcastle United left with a penalty victory following a 1-1 draw.
