By Tom Scott

National League clubs have been offering some Christmas on children's wards up and down the country.

It's the season of giving and many of our clubs have been out and about spreading festive cheer.

Gateshead midfielder Tom White said visiting the QE Hospital was an eye-opener for the Heed squad.

White was joined by manager Steve Watson and other first-team players who signed autographs and handed gifts to ill children.

Wrexham stars including skipper Shaun Pearson all chipped in for a truck load of gifts for children at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

The Dragons' squad stayed for photos with patients on the ward and Rob Lainton even had time for a game of Top Trumps.

Boreham Wood boss Luke Garrard said it was an 'absolute pleasure' to deliver gifts to the children of Barnet Hospital last week.

He told the club's website, “Seeing the reactions of all of the little boys and girls when the lads walked in with the presents, you can’t not enjoy it."

Wes Fonguck and Dan Sweeney were among a strong Barnet contingent that visited Royal Free London hospital this week to hand out gifts and sign autographs.

Boston United were also on a festive spree in Lincolnshire. Craig Elliott was joined by Ben Davies, George Willis and Danny Rowe at the Pilgrim Hospital.

Players posed for photographs with parents, children and staff before handing out gifts.

National League high-fliers Leyton Orient also headed out - visiting Whips Cross hospital to spread festive cheer.

AFC Fylde made a special trip to the Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

York City captain Jordan Burrows said visiting York Hospital was 'a huge privilege'.

Burrows was joined by gaffer Sam Collins and club mascot 'Yorkie the Lion', as well as other members of the first team squad.

Seven member of AFC Telford United's senior squad were on hand at the Princess Royal hospital to spread a bit of festive cheer.
