Murray The Man For Fylde As He Wins Race For Mill Farm Job

AFC Fylde have announced the appointment of Adam Murray as the clubs’ new head coach.

The former National League champion takes over the Coasters following James Rowe’s exit last mont, beating 100 others to the job.

The former Derby County, Oxford United, Luton Town and Mansfield midfielder has managerial experience with Boston United.

He takes over with Fylde sitting eighth and he will inherit a team full of confidence after Saturday’s win at National League North leaders Darlington.

His first task is in the FA Cup and a replay at League Two Gillingham on Tuesday night.

He told the club’s website: “I’m delighted to be here at AFC Fylde and working with a really good group of players.

“It’s a great challenge for myself and one that I am looking forward to.”

Executive Vice Chairman Phil Humphreys said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured Adam as our First-Team Head Coach.

“His reputation, built on solid foundations, precedes him, and there is no doubt that we’ve made an appointment that is a perfect match for the Club and for Adam.

“To his credit, he’s emerged as our first choice following a professional and robust recruitment process that saw more than 100 applicants for the role.

“I know that Adam will receive a big welcome from everyone connected with the Club.

“We’d also like to express our sincere thanks to Andy Taylor, who has been the Interim First-Team Manager since September. He will now assume the role of Assistant First-Team Coach.”
