Murray Demands More As Boston Aim To Avoid Big Upset

Adam Murray knows standards are not being met at Boston United at the moment.

But the Pilgrims manager says things have got to be better before they get worse.

With the FA Cup on the horizon this weekend, Murray knows the club can ill afford to be the big headline on Saturday.

United are at home to Midland League minnows Haughmond - and it is a game they dare not lose. They will no doubt be big favourites to progress.

Boston, though, have lost their way in the Vanarama National League North. Just one victory in seven - against bottom club North Ferriby - means there are jitters ahead of the game.

His players got a ticking off after sliding to a 2-1 loss at Bradford Park Avenue.

“The results of late have not been good enough considering the aspirations we all have," said the manager, who was in charge of Mansfield Town in the Football League last season.

"At certain stages of the game with Bradford on Monday it was Men vs Boys.

"We keep making mistakes which cost us points. We have got to improve in certain areas.

"Maybe we need to have a shake up to get us back on track," manager Murray added.

Where next?

'Brave' Sutton Get Their Reward And Go Top Of National League Sutton United climbed back to the summit of the Vanarama National League with an injury time winner at Dagenham and Redbridge - a result of their bravery on the night says manager Paul Doswell.
