Murphy came through the youth system at Evo-Stik League Premier side Stourbridge, scoring 39 goals during the 2013/14 season as the team won the Midland Youth Premier Division.
His exploits attracted the attentions of League scouts and after impressing in trials, he was signed by Walsall in September 2014.
Soon afterwards he was loaned out to Worcester City where he featured in their memorable Emirates FA Cup run that saw them defeat Coventry City away.
After returning to Walsall, the pacey attacker made his Saddlers first-team debut in February 2015 as a substitute in a home league game against Port Vale.
In October 2015 Murphy signed for Kidderminster Harriers on loan as he scored twice in seven appearances. He returned to Worcester at the end of the January 2016.
After being released by Walsall at the end of the 2015/16 season, Murphy linked up again with Kidderminster for the following pre-season and helped them to lift the Worcestershire County trophy but was not retained by the club and subsequently re-joined Worcester in the National League North for the remainder of last season.
Murphy re-signed for Stourbridge at the start of this season but recently left the Glassboys.
