Morley Commits to Lambs

The signing of Steph Morley earlier this week meant that Tamworth boss Andy Morrell now has a first-team squad of fourteen players in place heading into the first pre-season session tomorrow morning.

With more new arrivals likely before the first pre-season fixture on July 8th, the squad will be supplemented by a number of triallists, along with four members of last season`s highly-successful under-21 squad for the time being.

After missing the early part of the season due to injury, Morley cemented his place at left-back, and was a consistent attacking threat with his excellent delivery from wide areas, both in open play and from dead ball situations.

Morley became a Lamb this time last season, joining from National League North rivals Brackley Town.

He has also represented the likes of Leamington and Hinckley United locally.

Morrell said: "Steph is a great lad, and had a really good end to the season. I still believe he can get better, as his injury last pre-season put him a little behind. He created a lot of goals for us in the final few weeks of last season, so hopefully he can produce that again".

Where next?

Barrow Steps Up With Gateshead Gateshead have further strengthened their squad with the capture of former Wales semi-professional international Scott Barrow.
Experienced Clifton Joins Pilgrims Boston United have completed the signing of experienced and versatile former Brackley Town and Nuneaton Town right-back James Clifton.
