Morley: Back To Basic Working Wonders

Salford City moved eight points clear with joint-manager Bernard Morley saying keeping it simple got them the result.

A 3-0 win against AFC Telford United saw them open up more of a gap, though both Harrogate Town & Brackley Town were in FA Trophy action, writes Tom Feaheny.

An own goal and then strikes by Jack Redshaw and Michael Nottingham ensured the Ammies got another victory.

"They had a game plan that saw them frustrate us at times, I thought we were maybe a bit negative as well during the first, it was important to change the formation for the second half and we did to 4-4-2," Morley told the club's website.

"Changing that then meant we took the game to them.

"It's important to build that gap up again, we hope that puts pressure on the teams below us, it is important that we stick to basics, that is what we did and we leave with a 3-0 win and the clean sheet is very important as well."
