Solihull Moors sit proudly on top of the National League - 12 months on from the club wallowing in the division’s bottom four.
Just last January the team looked doomed to relegation but it has turned into a fantastic story which has seen the club go full circle.
Moors’ conclusive 3-0 win at Aldershot Town on Tuesday night not only took them to the top of the table, but even handed them a two-point lead.
After outsiders Macclesfield triumphed against the odds last season, fans are wondering if we could have another possible surprise winner on our hands.
“It’s terrific,” Flowers told the club’s video service. “It’s a wonderful achievement by everybody here.
“More so the players. They have the commitment and the desire and I think that epitomises how they have gone about their business.
“I could tell early on that we could have a good campaign. Our pre-season was excellent and the players worked really hard.
“We won our games in the summer and not that it matters too much, but the results then spilled into our season.”
On the victory in Hampshire, Flowers was full of praise for hat-trick hero Nathan Blissett.
“The first half was difficult but the second was more comfortable,” the manager added.
“Our second goal really hurt them. Then Nathan goes on to get his third and it’s the icing on the cake. He was fantastic all night and deserves the headlines.
“We have got good footballers, players who can really mix it up.
“We’re delighted to be where we are and it’s full credit to the players because they have been outstanding.”
