Moors Must Build On Cup Performance

By David Richardson

Solihull Moors can take confidence from their performance against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup says caretaker manager Gary Whild.

Two first-half goals from Nick Freeman and Craig Mackail-Smith was enough for the League Two side to progress.

But Moors didn't go down without a fight and showed good character in the second half.

After manager Richard Money left the club in mid-week, Whild was left to pick up the pieces and he says today's defeat is something to build on.

"Second half I thought we were on the front foot and had a few chances where you need a bit of luck," he said.

"We've said to the lads, whatever the situation is moving forward, we've got to use that second half performance and take it into the league games.

"I think the lads trained hard this week, the preparation has been good. I was glad second half they could go out there and make it worthwhile.

"They've got to take confidence from that."
