Moors Have 'Little Room For Error' Now Warns Skipper

Solihull Moors captain Darren Carter needs his team-mates to remain focused in their bid to be the drop.

Mark Yates’ side have given themselves the best possible chance of National League survival, after all hope looked lost earlier in the season.

With just two points separating themselves and Barrow outside of the bottom four, Carter insists that there’s no margin for error.

Speaking to the club’s website, the 34-year-old said: “The form table shows we are on a fine run and this is what has enabled us to be within striking distance.

“We cannot afford any room for error now, that’s why we are extremely focused on the task still at hand and continuing our push up the table.”

Moors have conceded just five goals in 2018, with Carter putting that down to the hard work done on the training ground with Yates and his assistant Tim Flowers.

“One of the key reasons for our recent form has been our ability to keep the ball out of our net,” He continued.

“Credit to the gaffer and Tim in particular who sets us up and assigns us our jobs and roles within our shape – everybody understands what is expected from them.”

Carter, who is now pulling the strings in midfield along with Jamey Osborne and Kyle Storer, is gearing his side up for a trip to title challengers Sutton United tomorrow afternoon.

He says that the squad are prepared for what’s to come, which includes playing on a different surface to the usual grass.

“We face a huge challenge against a team flying high in the league table.

“Playing on an artificial surface is always a different experience but we have prepared right and have had plenty of training time on this surface. We will be raring to go.”
