Moors' Flowers Hoping For An FA Cup Epic

Tim Flowers feels FA Trophy victory at Southport sets Solihull up perfectly for their rather important evening.

Moors make the trip to Blackpool tonight knowing they are one game away from an incredible tie with Premier League giants Arsenal.

They head to the North West with a win a little further south on Saturday under their belts.

Seeing off Southport 1-0, the manager told the club’s official website it’s just what they needed before getting back on the road.

“We got over the line,” he said. “It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t pretty, but we’re in the hat for the next round so I’ve got to be pleased with that.

"Trying to pass the ball forward with quality in those conditions is very difficult and it was as bad as I’ve seen for quite a while.

"We’ll take any kind of win in those conditions and fair credit to the boys. I asked them to go and get us in the hat for the next round and they’ve delivered that.”

He added: “Now we can focus on it a little bit. It’s going to be an unbelievably tough game, we know that.

"They showed exactly what they could do at our place – they can go through you at will sometimes.

"They’re right around the play-off scene in League One. If they were red hot favourites at ours, they’re white hot at theirs.

"We’re going to go up and test ourselves and do everything we did in the home game – give everything we’ve got and see where it leaves us."
