Darren Carter's 86th minute penalty looked to be enough to snatch a point at home to Hartlepool United after Rhys Oates put the visitors ahead.
But Jonathan Franks popped up with another late winner to ruin Money's first game.
"It's my first experience and you cannot feel anything but sorry for the boys," he said. "They've given everything they've got. It was a bit scrappy but we need to battle and scrap and play when we can. Two really poor errors cost us the game and really Hartlepool had nothing else.
"This was always going to be a tough start. They are team that's just come down from the Football League and they are expected to be in the top seven or better.
"There was a lack of confidence in front of goal. But, as I've said in the dressing room, you cannot feel sorry for yourselves for too long - pick yourselves up and go again. I've seen enough today to suggest that if we can get them a bit of help in key areas on the pitch then we can grind out results and maybe do a bit better than that.
"We have got young players learning their trade and they need a bit of help if I'm honest, and that's what we are going to try to do. There are young players who are mainly on loan from academies who have come to learn, but we really haven't got time for them to learn. We are in a position where we need results pretty quick."
