A sixth win in a row on Tuesday night saw them keep the heat on at the top of the National League North.
The Moors are four points away from the leaders and have games in hand after a 2-0 success at Altrincham.
But they had matches on their rivals last season and totally blew up and ended up missing out on the play-offs all together.
Manager Ainsley thinks lessons have been learned and his team are mentally stronger this time around.
“We didn’t do ourselves any favours in the final few games of last season,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.
“We had matches to make up and let ourselves down. This year we have picked up nine points from ours games in hand - we didn’t do that last year.
“That’s the different thing this time. We have a great group with a real togetherness.”
Are Moors in the title race? The manager is dropping hints.
“What we have done is put ourselves in a really good position,” he adds.
“Altrincham, I think, are the best footballing side in the league. We weren’t really at it in the first half even though they didn’t really get in behind us much.
“Second half we were comfortable and we were a threat.
“I have said to the players that any side who wins promotion or goes on to have success finds different ways to win matches.
“Mentally it was a really tough match for us but I thought our organisation was exceptional.”
