Moors Are Making Moves And Lee Just Wants To Keep Building

Spennymoor Town manager Graeme Lee knows if last season started in February his team would toasting a title!

But even though they couldn’t quite shoehorn their way into the National League North’s top seven, the connection built could hold them in good stead.

His resurgent side secured an incredible 13 wins in the season’s final three months.

Lee, who only arrived at the club in January, secured the division’s Manager of the Month award for February and March, was proud of the progress made.

The electric end to the season, which kept them in contention until the final day of the season, sees them considered as real contenders by many next season.

Lee left Marske United to replace Lewis Dickman in the New Year. He had been in interim charge following the resignation of Jamie Chandler in September.

While the manager was thrilled with the turn around, he hopes a consistent campaign can see Moors at the right end of the table from the word go.

“The support we had last season was incredible really, particularly during that amazing run we had at home in the final few months,” Lee told the club’s website.

“I felt like there was a really special connection building between players and fans last season.

“You could feel that energy during games and see the bond when we celebrated together after our victories.

“We’re working extremely hard behind the scenes to put together a team to build on the momentum, and one that the fans will not only enjoy watching, but can all be proud to support.”
