Bernard Morley says he is happy with the progress seen so far after they won the warm up of the Vanarama National League North 2-1 against FC United of Manchester.
Money has been spent on the stadium as the Class of 92 continue to invest but on the pitch things are shaping up well for Salford too.
“We’ve been chomping at the bit to get a home game,” he told the club’ media team after the win. “We wanted to get out there and see what it’s all about.
“FC United are a good side who have made some good signings and I think they’ll have a good season.
“I was so pleased with the way we played in the first half in particular. We created a lot of chances.
“At times we implemented some of the things we have been working on in training so it’s all positive.”
Salford start their season with a home match against Darlington.
Karl Marginson’s FC United, meanwhile, make the trip to Brackley hoping to show they could be promotion candidates next season.
