The new manager secured his first win in charge on New Year’s Day.
But he was quick to say the 2-1 success over Gateshead was far from perfect.
Pools’ home form has left a lot to be desired this season but they welcomed in 2019 with a winning start against the play-off chasers.
They now get the chance to keep smiles on faces when they host struggling Maidstone United on Saturday.
“It’s a good start to the new year, but let’s not get carried away by one win,” said Money, who replaced Matthew Bates in charge.
“It was a good performance in patches but we have shown the fans how we want this team to play.
“Our home form this season hasn’t been good enough so it was good to begin 2019 by getting one.
“That was a key area for improvement when I came in. We knew we had to be better here.
“We probably made harder work of it than I would have wanted but that was our fourth game in ten days.”
