Money Takes Positives After Disappointing Draw

By David Richardson

Solihull Moors manager Richard Money is taking the positives from Saturday's draw with Ossett Town, one of the lowest ranked teams left in the competition.

Oladapo Afolayan put the National League Moors ahead after 20 minutes but Corey Gregory equalised for Ossett before half-time.

Gregory was then sent off with 15 minutes to go but the Evo-Stik North side held on to earn a lucrative replay.

It was an understandably disappointing afternoon for Money's team although he's taking the positives.

He said: "It's a game that we pretty much dominated from start to finish but fair play to Ossett, they've set up to be hard to beat and got bodies behind the ball.

"If you take away the disappointment of not winning, you know that these teams aren't easy to break down and a lot of what we did was ok.

"Our movement was good, we got in good spaces but you get into the top third of the pitch and you’re trying to play through eight/nine people which isn't easy.

"We knocked at the door and kept trying to probe. I wasn't too unhappy with what I saw, there was some more progress."

"We'll be in the draw and it gives me another 90 minutes with them to put some principles and philosophy in place before we go back into league action next weekend – let's make the most of the replay that we can.

"We're going to stay positive and keep pushing forward. It's very important that we go through and clearly we want to do that."
