Mitchell Moves On As Blyth Make Early Managerial Change

The new season may be only one game old but we have already seen our first managerial departure.

Blyth Spartans have announced that Terry Mitchell has departed the club this morning after less than ten months at the helm.

He had been in charge since November last year and hopes were high heading into the National League North season.

But a change has been made after the club got off to a losing start.

Blyth went down 1-0 at home to Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday, with the only goal coming from Ashley Hemmings.

It provoked movement and the club will now begin their search for a new manager.

A statement read: "Blyth Spartans can confirm that manager Terry Mitchell has departed the club with immediate effect.

“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Terry for his efforts – namely last season’s successful battle against relegation as well as our victory in the Northumberland Senior Cup – and wish him the very best for the future.

“The club will be making no further comment at this time.”

Mitchell was the assistant manager at Gateshead and Stockport County as well as being director of youth development at Hartlepool United.
