The 20-year-old, who signed a contract extension with Boro earlier this week, returns to the Minstermen for his second loan spell with the club this season.
The midfielder won player of the month Award for his performances for York in December, and another loan move will allow him to continue his development playing senior football.
The Darlington-born player, who is now contracted to the club until the summer 2019 with the option of an extra year, has yet to taste competitive senior football at Boro and after picking up an injury early this season. He returned to feature in the under-23s before a pre-Christmas loan move to York.
Pattison caught the eye of many Boro fans during the summer of 2016 when he linked up with senior squad during the early part of pre-season and he was among the scorers in a 2-0 win at Doncaster Rovers.
