Micky Mellon knows Rovers’ 16th place position in the Vanarama National League is not good enough.
Tuesday night’s defeat at Maidenhead United added to their woes as inconsistent Tranmere lag behind the rest.
But he feels it is a matter of time before their climb begins and in his pre-match press conference he said: “We’re very frustrated, but we are controlling that frustration. It’s not about how I feel, it’s about me working out how we’re going to win games of football.
“I think we’re doing OK, but in terms of results we’re not. We all accept that.
“We believe in the process of putting performances together, but it’s about taking that into the 90 minutes. We aren’t changing our approach - I am absolutely sure that it will turn at some stage.
“I try to not sound like a broken record. We should have been more clinical at times, but we are aware there is a lot of stuff we’re doing right.
“But that doesn’t get away from the bottom line and the bottom line is that football is all about results, we’re very aware of that.”
Mellon added: “We have got goalscorers on the pitch, a whole host of them. We all have to take responsibility. There is nobody else playing the football we’re playing, let’s be honest. But we have to add goals to that.”
