Mellon: Rovers Can't Get Carried Away Despite Professional Win

Tranmere Rovers boss Micky Mellon says his side know they have to keep winning as they moved closer to the play-off places.

A 2-0 home win sees Rovers now three points off seventh place in the National League table, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It's an important win, we won't get carried away but we need to beat teams like Dag & Red to get closer to the play-off places, but we won't be getting carried away," Mellon said.

"We were delighted to score a couple of goals and get the clean sheet and the performance was superb all game so there were a lot of positives to take from it.

"The group work hard on team shape, we all want to know the job we need to do, against a team like Dag & Red that is key our professionalism was important

"It is important that the fans leave knowing we have put a lot into the game and that is good to see, the win and the effort levels mean I give a lot of credit to the group."
