Mekki earns short-term Tranmere deal

Vanarama National League club Tranmere Rovers have signed midfielder Adam Mekki on a contract until January 3rd 2016 following a successful trial spell.

Mekki spent his youth at the Reading academy, before switching to Aldershot Town in 2006. He signed a professional contract with the Shots in the summer of 2009.

In January 2011 he was loaned out to Oxford City, scoring 2 goals in six appearances. He subsequently had loan spells with Carshalton Athletic, Dorchester Town and Basingstoke Town that season.

Mekki was named as a standby player for the Wales under-21 squad in August 2012, shortly after signing a two-year contract extension with Aldershot.

He made eighty-eight appearances for the Shots before leaving in June 2014.

Mekki joined Barnet on a short-term deal at the start of 2014/15 season and made nine appearances, but left The Hive to gain regular football and in January 2015 he signed for Dover Athletic on contract until the end of the season.
