McQuilkin Eager To See How Harriers Fare In Play-Offs

Kidderminster Harriers have learned from last season’s play-off heartache and are ready for another crack this term according to midfielder James McQuilkin.

Harriers showcased their attacking prowess with a 3-1 victory over in-form play-off rivals Stockport County on Tuesday night.

McQuilkin got on the scoresheet himself as Kidderminster countered with pace to secure their fourth win in five matches.

The midfielder was part of the side that lost in the play-off semi-finals to Chorley last season and he is eager for Harriers to have another go.

“We’ll learn from last season,” he told us. “We’ll have a gameplan going into the play-offs and it’s all about executing it.

“We’re all ready for it but we need a couple more wins to secure a play-off spot and finish as high as possible.

“We’re full of pace. We know we’re going to create plenty of chances and it’s just about putting them away.

“We’ve got plenty of players who like to get the ball down and play but we showed we can do the other side against Stockport and I thought we did both sides well.

“We’ve learnt a few lessons from conceding late goals and it was pleasing that we kept going until the 90th minute.”
