The Fleet moved up to 16th in the Vanarama National League table after a 1-0 victory, writes Tom Feaheny.
Speaking to BBC Radio Kent Daryl McMahon said.
"That’s two clean sheets in a row against Tranmere and Boreham Wood, two decent sides established at this level and that’s what we’re looking to do as well, be competitive and making sure we’re getting points.
“It’s about learning as well. You go to Eastleigh at home, our game management wasn’t right, Chester away. For me we gifted them goals in those games so that wasn’t quite right. Today was right, we slowed it down, nicked a few free kicks, put in the areas you put it in to kill the game and showed a bit more nous.”
McMahon is also pleased with the depth of the squad and the options he has available.
“We’ve got good players in the squad, the players that came on all had a real impact on the game which I expect them to. I’ve said it before, we have got really good spirit. The lads work ever so hard, they came on and gave a good performance.
One player that McMahon picked out for praise was Darren McQueen with the manager pleased with the contribution he made.
"He definitely came on and had an impact in the hole and then wide. Jack Powell’s winning headers now or trying to, which is something that’s not his game naturally. They’re young players and they’re trying to evolve and they will evolve.”
