For United last weekend's win against Solihull Moors moved them to tenth and six points off seventh, writes Tom Feaheny.
That victory saw the side gain their first win in four, now with matches coming up against FC Halifax Town and Woking, a good run could see them close the gap.
“You can see what it means to the players. They’ve been brilliant for me and they’ve worked hard this season. We’ve had games where we haven’t hit our top form obviously," McMahon told the club's website.
“We’ll try and finish as high as we can, wherever that may be and if the players are as committed as they were in the Solihull game, then I’m sure we’ll have a positive end to the season.
“We are now getting ready for Halifax and then we’ve got Woking on Tuesday night.”
