McMahon: Fleet Must Start To Find Their Scoring Boots

Daryl McMahon knows Ebbsfleet United must find their shooting boots and fast if they want to be a part of another promotion challenge this season.

Fleet lost 1-0 at home to Sutton United but wasted a number of great chances.

They have four points on the board but so far have found the net just twice in 360 minutes of football.

He says the attacking players “have got to do better” when opportunities arise.

“It’s about us now turning it into goals and I’ve no doubt we will. We’ve got too many good players not to,” he told BBC Radio Kent.

“But we’ve got to do it quick, you’ve got to turn these performances into wins.

“We had numerous opportunities, especially early on, to go into the lead. I’m a bit like a broken record at the minute. I think we need to score when we’re on top, I think the first 35 minutes it was all us.

"We are playing well but we are missing too many chances at the minute.”

Fleet hope to get back on the goals trail at Barnet on Saturday.
