A 3-1 win away at Gloucester City in the league moved the side up to ninth in the table at the weekend, writes Tom Feaheny.
"It was a tough game, both sides wanted to play, it was a tough, I thought they handled the conditions a bit better," McGregor said.
"We scored three goals and it could have been more, the attacked side isn't the problem, we just need to control the game more.
"We have dug a result out, 3-1 makes it look a bit easier than it was, I'm disappointed with how we played but it's a good win."
They next take on Workington in the FA Trophy at home on Saturday.
"It will be a tough game for us, we'll prepare correctly and know we must show an improvement from the Gloucester game despite winning."
