The Seagulls won the Somerset Premier Cup on Tuesday night thanks to a 3-2 win over Step 4 club Paulton Rovers.
They did things the hard way, however, recovering from a 2-0 half-time deficit with Tristan Plummer netting the winner in stoppage time.
It meant McGregor’s men were celebrating at the end of a long season following their 12th-place finish in the National League South.
“The pitch was slow and it didn’t make for a great game,” McGregor told the club’s Facebook page.
“We started slowly and we’ve been defending like that all year. That’s something I’m going to address in the summer.
“We have to be more ruthless in front of goal as well. Paulton took the only two chances they had and we only scored three out of ten or 15.
“We’ll have a look at personnel, which we are, and we’re hopefully securing one in the next week or so. The hard work starts now for the management team.
“It’s important to me that we’re winning things. Next season we want to win this again, have a successful season in the National League South and have a couple of good cup runs.”
