McDonald Won't Mourn Moors' Slow Start

Liam McDonald isn’t letting panic set in at Solihull Moors, despite the club’s one-point start to the Vanarama National League season.

Moors lost 1-0 at home to FC Halifax Town on Saturday, a third defeat from four matches. It was a match in which they missed a penalty kick. Watch Highlights Here:

McDonald has backed his players despite seeing his side sit second from bottom of the early season table.

He stressed that fortunes will turn and isn’t overly concerned by taking only a point, at home to Barrow on Tuesday, is all they have to show so far.

“We gave a good account of ourselves,” McDonald said. “We have defended set plays and created chances but I won’t be critical of individual performances.

“If the penalty goes in it could be a different story, but it didn’t. We were a bit wasteful in front of goal.

“But there is a lot to be positive about. I was pleased with the performance.

“It’s a learning curve for us. If you aren’t at it 100% then in this league it is very difficult to get anything at all.

“It’s a result-based business and we’re disappointed of a group that we haven’t got anything from the game it wasn’t a negative afternoon.”
