McDonald: Solihull Have Something To Build On

Afterwards speaking to BBC WM Sport McDonald said for the opponents they were facing they did well.

"We were in the game for 90 minutes Aldershot are a very good side, we knew it would be difficult, the goal we conceded we need to do better but we held our own, we just didn't click into gear.

"We created chances our front two just weren't able to get that goal."

With players returning from injury and a popular player from last season re-signing McDonald says that is another positive.

"Liam Daly did well, we need to keep our heads up, get some more players back we need to keep our heads up, we have played a team who will finish in the top five for sure.

"For me there is light at the end of the tunnel if we defend like that we will be hard to break down."

They next face Chester on Tuesday, with the Solihull boss downplaying the significance of the game.

"It's not a six pointer but it is winnable, we look forward to it, if we can get that win it can start a run for us."
