McDonald: Hylton A Great Addition For Moors

The ex-Swindon Town forward joins his old Redditch boss

Liam McDonald says the signing of striker Jermaine Hylton is a statement of intent from his side, writes Tom Feaheny.

The striker has joined after being with the League Two club, he also had a brief loan spell at Guiseley last season.

McDonald told the club's website: “This is a massive signing. Jermaine is a quality goal scorer who needed a change after Swindon’s relegation to League 2 last season and despite considerable interest from Football and National League clubs, has bought into our vision here at Moors and wants to be part of it. He has impressed in training and at Barwell this week.

"He came to Redditch having played Sunday League with Continental Star and I believe he will be the best striker in non league football. He is always a threat and defenders find it hard to read his game. He had a few games last season with Guiseley and knows what to expect in the National League.”

McDonald says a successful time with the club can help him achieve his future ambitions.

"He wants to eventually return to the Football League and the best way for him to do that is to be successful here. He is a great addition to the squad and will score goals”
