McCarthy: Halifax Game Has Added Significance

By Tom Feaheny

There first game of the season ended in a draw, now they face another newly promoted side in FC Halifax Town.

Chester boss Jon McCarthy says his side know just how much a home win against FC Halifax Town would mean to the group, writes Tom Feaheny.

They currently have a point from a game, McCarthy told the club's website.

"It is a really important game for us, because if we can make it four points from two games that is something we can build on.

"They have bounced back, they have good wide players, a big target man, I have a good idea what they will do. It is a big game for both sides.

He added: "If we get it right we are where we want to be, if not there is a little bit of pressure already."

When it comes to recruitment, McCarthy says they have scouted plenty of players already ahead of any potential short term moves.

"We have seen a lot of the Premier League and Championship sides we will be round and watch those games to see in terms of recruitment, that's our situation, that is how it works."
