McAnuff Ready To Lead Orient Out In The EFL

Leyton Orient captain Jobi McAnuff will lead the club back in the EFL - as full-back Joe Widdowson also agreed to stay.

The National League champions' skipper, who turns 38 next season, has had a fantastic season.

Orient have announced he will stay for another year as McAnuff appears in no hurry to hang up his boots after a wonderful career.

"It has been a really enjoyable chapter of my career, one I'm thoroughly enjoying, and I hope that comes across in my performances," he said.

He told us at the end of the season that he hasn't enjoyed a campaign like the last one for many years.

"To do what we did, with a special group of players, will live long in my memory," he said.

"This club should have never been in this position but even though the National League is so demanding we managed to achieve something incredible - hopefully it's just the start."

Widdowson, meanwhile, agreed a two-year deal to stay with the League Two newboys.
