Massey Needs The Magpies To Really Knuckle Down

Only working harder will get Maidenhead United’s season back up and running, Alan Devonshire has told his players.

The Magpies’ 2-0 home defeat to Leyton Orient on Saturday was their third defeat in four games.

Captain Alan Massey knows they need to start games better - and says the manager is demanding a response.

“The first half performance on Saturday again wasn’t what it should have been,” he said. “It’s not the first time.

“We are struggling with consistency. We need to knuckle down in training and work that little bit harder than we have been.

“We had a rough start, picked up and now we’re in a bit of a bad patch again but we’ll work on a few things in training and hopefully next time it will be better.

“The manager has told us we need to work a bit harder and look at our own performances and it’s hard to disagree.”

Maidenhead travel to Boreham Wood on Saturday looking to get back to winning ways.
