Marriott Wants To Take Boston Up Like He Did With Lynn

The striker scored 65 times in 99 games for Lynn under now Boston manager Ian Culverhouse, and half of those came in their title winning season of 2021.

His new side are into the play-off places after Tuesday night’s 2-0 win over Darlington, their fourth win from five.

Marriott, who played seven times for the club in 2018, says he’s back to help them get over the line and add another promotion to his CV at the same time.

“The gaffer was keen to get me here and they know what they offer,” Marriott said. “He knows what I bring, I know a lot of the staff and a few of the boys.

“We have experience, youth and good runners - there’s a good mix, just what you need to get in the play-offs and hopefully one stage further.

“Once you’re in there it’s anyone’s game and as long as we get in there and go in with confidence we’ve got a chance. The home form is so important and hopefully we can keep winning in front of the fans.”

They have home games with Spennymoor Town and Buxton coming up but first it’s a trip tp Blyth Spartants.

He said after last night’s win: “We dug in, we’re kicking on. It wasn’t the best game but now we go to Blyth looking for another.”
