Marriott Masterful But Can He Eclipse Goal King Rowe?

You would have done very well to escape the scoring exploits of Adam Marriott this season.

Not that you would have wanted to. Quite simply, no striker has more goals than King’s Lynn Town fearsome frontman.

The former Cambridge United striker has 28 already in the National League North, and maybe his eyes won't just be on the Golden Boot and promotion.

Danny Rowe holds the record with 47, set back in 2017 when the then-AFC Fylde striker surpass the previous record set by Altrincham’s Damien Reeves.

He has some way to go but three months to do it, but just how good is the Linnet’s frontman?

Director of football Robbie Back has been talking, and after his first-half double downed Blyth Spartans this weekend he told the Lynn News that the leaders own something very special.

"I've never seen a finisher like it at this level," said Back, whose team retain a four point lead over York City at the top.

"His finishing is something else and he's just having such a good season, he really is. He keeps scoring important goals.

"After we went 2-0 up, we let them back into a bit. We tried to make it too difficult for ourselves at times by trying to play that killer pass.

"We switched off and stopped doing what Ian wanted us to do, but he got them in at half-time an and that's what we did in the second half.”
