His Red Rebels have endured a slow start in the early stages of the Vararama National League North and that has seen them defeated in all five matches.
But far from upset about the pointless first three weeks, Marginson stresses that in four of the five defeats his team have actually played well.
FC United have a big Bank Holiday weekend in front of them. On Saturday they welcome Boston United and on Monday, they go to York City.
“The performances, certainly in the first four games, were really good,” the long serving manager said.
“We’ve seen signs of it all coming together. We made a lot of signings in the summer, and when you make changes it does take time to settle down. We’re seeing that.
“It doesn’t feel like five losses from five. When the new set of players bond properly with my staff, we’ll be fine because there is a lot of ability in that team. It will come.”
United are at home to the Pilgrims tomorrow and Marginson says it’s high time they produced a positive result for their fans.
“Of course, we want that first win as soon as possible,” he adds. “That’s a no brainer. But Boston are one of the biggest clubs in the league. They’ve had a few indifferent results, but they’re a massive club.
“Like a few in this division, they’re ex-Football League and they’ll be desperate to make up for Tuesday when they lost heavily at home to Stalybridge.
“We’ve prepared very well and we’re ready. There’s no panic here and we’re going to keep working hard and keep believing in our ability.”
