Magpies Take To Twitter To Find FA Cup Heroes!

The FA Cup has many fantastic tales of course, and Chorley hope they could be on the way to another.

The Vanarama National League North club yesterday sent out an SOS via twitter ahead of their first round clash with Fleetwood Town.

Tuesday night’s 4-3 win at Boston United means the Lancashire club are into the first round for the first time in 27 years.

Chorley seem to be short of numbers and they a message on the social media site appealing for players.

“FA CUP | Wanted. Keeper and midfielder. Must be able to play against @ftfc in the #EmiratesFAcup #flymagpiesfly” read the tweet on Wednesday.

There could be a story in the making if a player responds and does something special - and former Blackburn Rovers star David Dunn has already been in touch.

But Chorley managed Matt Jansen gave him former Ewood Park pal the could shoulder... joking that his team needed a 90 minutes player - and not just a nine minute cameo!

Jansen’s team gear up for Fleetwood after a fine performance in Tuesday’s replay.

“The game had everything, to win the game with 10 men typifies everything about the character of the dressing room and how strong we have been the last couple of months,” he said.

“I’m so proud of every one of them, never say die, away from home, they deserve everything they have got. It was a massive team performance.”
