Magpies Nine Clear But Vermiglio Wants More, More, More!

Jamie Vermiglio says Chorley's start to the season has been 'remarkable' but he doesn't want it to stop there.

The Magpies completed their fifth home win in as many games on Saturday against Alfreton Town.

It's a result that puts Vermiglio's side nine points clear at the summit of the National League North.

There's a feel-good factor around Victory Park at the minute after a summer that threatened to de-rail the club's promotion plans.

And Vermiglio knows that his side have to continue winning if they're to acheive their goals.

"We just need to keep getting points on the board and that's a priority," he told the club's official Twitter.

"At this stage of the season, to be nine points clear is a remarkable achievement for everyone at the club."

Magpies skipper Andy Teague echoed his managers sentiment, urging caution as well as paying homage to his teammates.

"It's early days yet," he said. "But there's a long way to go, but to have that cushion already is credit to the lads and the staff.

"To be 10 games in and nine points clear is outstanding. Anyone would take that," he added.
