Magpies’ Message Is Clear With Unique Sponsorship Deal

Maidenhead United hope their new sponsorship arrangement can not only change lives, but save them too.

The National League Magpies have been working all summer on a partnership with charity CALM.

The Campaign Against Living Miserably help take a stand against suicide - and the club were very keen to spread the message.

The logo will adorn the front of their shirt and they will also display a huge flag on matchdays at York Road.

The sponsorship has been made possible after some hard work and generosity by many of the club’s loyal partners.

In a move to help those who are suffering, the financial support has come to ensure the Berkshire side don’t lose out on critical income.

One of the 11 firms backing the idea is local newspaper the Maidenhead Advertiser.

Luis Mackness, partnerships manager at CALM told the publication why this move is so important.

“Nothing brings more people together than watching their local football team so being able to have the charity present at Maidenhead United is great,” he said.

“Our ambition is to make everyone in Maidenhead aware of CALM, and the partnership with the football club will help with this hugely.

“Football is this massive, cultural lens that we’re trying to be seen through. Hopefully the people that dislike football will be interested in the partnership and want to find out more about the charity.

“We want to make sure everyone in this part of Berkshire knows there is support available, knows there is hope and people in their area working hard that can make them feel better.”
