Magpie's Dev Doesn't Want To Become A Story Tonight

Maidenhead United manager Alan Devonshire just wants more of the same tonight - and not to become Torquay United's first success story.

A blistering Magpies performance on Saturday saw the Stripes put Guiseley to the sword.

Maidenhead were 3-0 within the first 35 minutes as the Lions had no answer to the Berkshire club's attacking powers.

Devonshire knows it will be a totally different game at Torquay tonight of course even though the Gulls are looking for their first victory.

But he wants to see the side that played so well on Saturday - and not the one which came undone so easily at Chester in their previous away outing.

He said: "Clearly Saturday was really pleasing for a number of reasons.

"Not just because of how well we played in the first half, but how we controlled things and didn't let Guiseley back in.

"Tuesday night won't be the same game, no two matches are, but we need to play with this type of confidence.

"We can't afford to perform like we did against Chester but hopefully we have put that display behind us now."
