Wood broke their transfer record to bring Ferrier back to the club from league rivals Dagenham & Redbridge.
The 23-year-old was Wood’s top scorer last season with 11 National League goals and he showed on Saturday why Garrard splashed the cash to bring him back.
Ferrier scored the opener in the 2-0 win at Eastleigh and Garrard told Boreham Wood TV: “He’s one of the best in the League, I know that from my time with him last year.
“I did a lot of homework on him before bringing him in and we did a lot of work with him last year. He’s got magic in his boots.”
Bruno Andrade also scored as Wood ended Eastleigh’s nine-game unbeaten run in the National League.
Garrard’s men are now up to sixth in the table and have home games against Gateshead and Maidstone United to look forward to next.
“The conditions and the pitch were tough and Eastleigh were nine games unbeaten so I think it’s a massive win,” the boss added.
“I think we played the conditions better than they did and caused them problems. When we needed to be clinical, we were.
“We’ve now kept three clean sheets in a row and that’s big for us as well after conceding ten goals in four games.”
