Macc's Lloyd: I Probably Won't Score A Better One!

What exactly was Macclesfield Town's Ryan Lloyd thinking when he decided to shoot from the halfway line...

The midfielder scored a stunning goal, reminiscent of David Beckham's famous strike against Wimbledon, which caught out Maidenhead United goalkeeper Carl Pentney - watch the goal here.

The Silkmen drew 1-1 in the end after the hosts equalised late.

Lloyd's goal has gone viral on social media, unsurprisingly taking plenty of plaudits. Now he's had his say on the incredible moment.

“It went well," he told the club's website. "It was one of those things that could have gone really wrong but I hit it pretty sweet.

“I took a touch and I was looking for the forwards and I saw the goalkeeper on the edge of the area and I hit it, and thankfully I hit it sweet and it couldn’t have gone any better.

“I probably won’t score a better one."
