Macclesfield Squad Looking Forward To Their Busy Schedule

Games can’t come quick enough for Macclesfield Town at the moment according to defender Jared Hodgkiss.

The Silkmen are top of the Vanarama National League and gearing up for Tuesday night’s FA Trophy trip to FC Halifax Town.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, the first round tie was moved back due to a frozen pitch at the Shay.

It means an even busier next couple of weeks but veteran Hodgkiss says that the squad are looking forward to a rapid run of games.

“Yes of course, especially with the run that we’re on,” Hodgkiss told Silkmen TV. “We want to keep the momentum going and hopefully we can start by winning on Tuesday night.

“We had our Christmas do last weekend and everybody turned up. It was a great atmosphere and you can see on the pitch that all the players are playing for each other.

“A lot of credit needs to go to the coaching staff. It’s been a good start to the season but we’ve not achieved anything yet so we need to keep our feet on the floor.

“When you’ve got momentum, you just want to keep winning games, regardless of whether it’s the FA Trophy or the League.”
